For child/adolescent evaluations, the NY Department of Education might provide you with an Assessment Authorization for an Independent Neuropsychological Evaluation. If so, I accept payment directly from the DOE, and parents are not billed for services.
I am not in-network with any insurance companies. Your insurance policy may cover out-of-network benefits. I can provide you with an invoice (if you have out-of-network benefits) for submission to your insurance company.
I encourage you to call your insurance company to determine your benefits for out-of-network Neuropsychological and Psychological Testing. Keep in mind, many insurance companies do not cover testing for particular diagnoses/concerns based on their “medical necessity” determinations. For instance, insurance companies often do not cover testing for Learning Disorders, testing accommodations, and other academic difficulties. In addition, many do not cover testing for ADHD. Furthermore, most insurance companies do not cover the full number of hours required for comprehensive evaluations.
I also conduct “private” evaluations for individuals who will not be seeking reimbursement from insurance. Rates are lower than or commensurate with local rates for Neuropsychological Evaluations. Total cost is dependent on case complexity, collateral interviews/consultations with treatment providers, number of testing hours anticipated, and record reviews required. These fees will be discussed and mutually agreed upon, in writing, prior to the first testing appointment.
Currently, I accept cash, check, credit card and/or payment through electronic payment applications. All fees are due at time of service, and/or 50-50% payment plans are considered.
